Recap: Soquel Knights vs. Aptos Mariners
The Soquel Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 61-42 fall against Aptos. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Soquel in their matchups with Aptos: they've now lost eight in a row.
It was another big night for Mateo Calfe, who scored 17 points for Aptos. Johnny Cornejo was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Soquel's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Aptos, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Soquel will be playing in front of their home fans against Harbor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Harbor is ranked 765th, while Soquel is ranked 770th). As for Aptos, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Cruz at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Santa Cruz will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
