Recap: Bertie Falcons vs. Southside Seahawks
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Bertie Falcons walked away with it. They put the hurt on Southside with a sharp 34-14 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for Bertie, who have now won three games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Among those leading the charge was Jeremiah Benthall, who threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also punched in two rushing scores.
Bertie has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Southside, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Bertie will head out on the road to face off against North Moore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Moore knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Bertie likes a good challenge. Southside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
