Volleyball Recap: South Lake's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

If South Lake was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of South Sumter on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles came up short against the Lake Buena Vista Vipers on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vipers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-14.

Emily Caldwell paced South Lake's offense, picking up seven kills. Caldwell were helped by Iris Trowbridge and Makiah Palacio, who contributed four assists each. Elizabeth Ortiz controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Lake fell to 2-1. As for Lake Buena Vista, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

South Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Edgewater on the 21st. As for Lake Buena Vista, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Freedom on the 21st.
