The David Crockett Pioneers will be taking part in a tournament against the Cherokee Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. David Crockett will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
Last Monday, David Crockett beat Tennessee 60-53. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Vikings are ranked 152nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brylee Tullock continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 26 points and 14 rebounds. The match was her sixth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Story, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.
David Crockett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Cherokee ended up a good deal behind Volunteer on Monday and lost 60-42. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Cherokee saw an underclassman step up: freshman Addie Lawson to rack up 29 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 69% of Cherokee's points, marking the fourth time in a row Lawson has posted more than a third of the team's points. Brooke Nelson was another key player, putting up nine points.
David Crockett pushed their record up to 30-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Cherokee, their loss dropped their record down to 8-23.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: David Crockett hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 62.2 points per game. It's a different story for Cherokee, though, as they've been averaging only 38.2 points. The only thing between David Crockett and another offensive beatdown is Cherokee. Will they be able to keep them contained?
David Crockett took their victory against Cherokee when the teams last played back in November of 2021 by a conclusive 53-27. Does David Crockett have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cherokee turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
