Newark Memorial hadn't done well against Irvington recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cougars blew past the Vikings 3-0. The Cougars not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 3rd (when they won 3-0).

Newark Memorial walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-22, 25-13, 27-25.

Newark Memorial's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 9-10. As for Irvington, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
