Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Faith Christian kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They received a blow as they fell 76-60 to the Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans.

Marcqell Freeman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Veritas Collegiate Academy, almost dropping a double-double with 28 points and nine rebounds. Freeman has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times he's played. Falcon Green was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 17 points.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Veritas Collegiate Academy, bringing their record for this year to 23-8.

Faith Christian has already played their next game, a 54-51 win against GVCS Broadfording on the 7th. As for Veritas Collegiate Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-72 defeat against Fairfax on the 6th.
