Baseball Game Preview: Viewpoint Patriots vs. Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons

The Viewpoint Patriots will square off against the Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Viewpoint will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Viewpoint is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Hoover with a sharp 17-4 victory on Tuesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Patriots with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Doral Academy Red Rock earned a 9-4 win over Orange Glen on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.

Harvey Swann was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Doral Academy Red Rock: the team is 2-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Sebastian Zaman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Viewpoint pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, the victory got them back to even at 4-4-1.
