Basketball Recap: Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine Takes a Loss

If Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine was riding high fresh off their 61-34 takedown of Dugger Union last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Martinsville Bluestreaks on Sunday. Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Martinsville earlier this season, when they won 41-40.

Despite the loss, Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine still got an impressive performance from Genna Kidwell, who went 6 for 14 en route to 21 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. That was a full 43.8% of Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Snider, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.
