Volleyball Game Preview: Jones Trojans vs. Sinton Pirates

Jones is on a 16-game streak of home wins, while Sinton is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Trojans will host the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Jones is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Calhoun just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Sandcrabs.

While Jones was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Calhoun's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Sinton sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Rockport-Fulton on Friday.

Sinton was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 19-25, 25-27, 25-20, 15-10.

The win got Sinton back to even at 14-14. As for Jones, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 32-5.

Jones skirted past Sinton 3-2 when the teams last played last Tuesday. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
