The Campolindo Cougars will challenge the Hercules Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Campolindo is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 27-10 margin over Ygnacio Valley on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Paige Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Williams was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Cassidy Mintz was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Nicky Sturtz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Campolindo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Hercules got the win against Making Waves Academy on Friday by a conclusive 15-2. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.
Hercules' victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Saraya De Alba, who got on base in three of her six plate appearances with one RBI.
Hercules is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Campolindo, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8.
