Basketball Recap: Chariton Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, the Chariton Chargers beat the Clarinda Cardinals 59-53.

Chariton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. As for Clarinda, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chariton will challenge West Central Valley on Monday. Chariton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully West Central Valley likes a good challenge. As for Clarinda, they will take on Shenandoah on Monday. Clarinda is facing Shenandoah at the right time seeing as Shenandoah is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
