A feisty cat fight will be fought as Aggieland HomeSchool Panthers take on Fayetteville Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Aggieland HomeSchool is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Normangee with a sharp 22-3 win on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Cason Meadows was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Levi Henderson was a standout: he scored four runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Wood, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Aggieland HomeSchool kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Fayetteville hadn't done well against Weimar recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Fayetteville narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Weimar 9-8.
Like Aggieland HomeSchool, Fayetteville also got a great game from a two-way player: Jack Schley. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Schley was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lawson Fritsch, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Dylan Henneke was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Aggieland HomeSchool has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. Fayetteville now has a winning record of 2-1.
