Recap: Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees vs. Caverna Colonels
The Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees pushed their score all the way to 71 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 83-71 to Caverna. Despite running the score up even higher than they did back in December of 2023 (68), Bethlehem still had to take the loss.
Caverna's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyson Martin, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Martin's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jaylin Craine was another key contributor, scoring 25 points along with nine assists and six rebounds.
Bethlehem bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Caverna, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Bethlehem will look to defend their home court on Friday against Breckinridge County at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Breckinridge County is ranked 222nd, while Bethlehem is ranked 204th). As for Caverna, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Knox at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fort Knox is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
