Baseball Recap: Wheaton Academy Triumphs

Wheaton Academy won the last time they faced Parkview Christian Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Warriors came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Charlie Scherer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Dallas Johnston was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Jackson From was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Wheaton Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parkview Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .208.

Wheaton Academy's record is now 20-7. As for Parkview Christian Academy, they moved to 14-8 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheaton Academy will head out to square off against Chicago Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Parkview Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Bishop McNamara at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Fightin' Irish will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
