Recap: Bethesda Christian Patriots vs. Danville Warriors
It was a good run, but the Bethesda Christian Patriots unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 61-23 loss at the hands of Danville.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenzie Fulks, who scored 8 points. Fulks scored a full 34.8% of Bethesda Christian's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jayla Ferguson, who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds.
Danville was led to victory by Maddy Wethington and Emma Ancelet. Wethington scored 23 points, while Ancelet scored 16 points along with 7 assists and 7 steals. The matchup was Ancelet's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kooper Stone, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals.
Bethesda Christian's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28 points. As for Danville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethesda Christian will take on Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Danville, they will be playing at home against Cascade at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cascade will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Danville is ranked 66th).
