Mingus was the 11-4 winner over Lee Williams when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Marauders took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Volunteers on Wednesday.

Derrick Alvarez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Mingus' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-8-1 when he doesn't).

Mingus' defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Lee Williams, their record is now 5-7.
