Baseball Recap: Sonoma Valley Comes Up Short

Sonoma Valley fell victim to Maria Carrillo and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Maria Carrillo Pumas by a score of 1-0. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Pumas recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Sonoma Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was River Gilardi, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Sonoma Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Maria Carrillo, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sonoma Valley will venture away from home to square off against Vacaville at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Maria Carrillo, they will head out to face off against Windsor at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Windsor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
