Meanwhile, Pomona entered their tilt with Mountain View on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They claimed a resounding 46-0 victory over the Mountain Lions. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 40 points or more this season.
Fort Morgan better keep an eye on Tucker Ingersoll. He was instrumental in Pomona's win, throwing for 307 yards and four TDs on perfect 9-for-9 passing, while also punching in one score on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Ingersoll a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Aaron Gomez was another key player, rushing for 60 yards and one touchdown.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Pomona proved: they limited Mountain View to a paltry 2.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Deandre Gonzales for the heroic effort on defense: he. Pomona didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.7.
Pomona's defense didn't let Cam Frost, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Gonzales was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
Fort Morgan dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pomona, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
Fort Morgan was dealt a bruising 49-6 loss at the hands of Pomona in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ingersoll, who threw for 276 yards and five TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Now that the Mustangs know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
