Softball Game Preview: Nueva Esperanza vs. Northeast Vikings

After both having extra time off, Nueva Esperanza and the Northeast Vikings will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Northeast will be up against a hot Nueva Esperanza squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Nueva Esperanza blew past Kensington 17-2 last Thursday. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for Nueva Esperanza this season.

Meanwhile, Northeast got the win against Carver High School of Engineering & Science last Thursday by a conclusive 16-2. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by 14 runs or more this season.

Northeast pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.8 runs over those games. As for Nueva Esperanza, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.

Nueva Esperanza skirted past Northeast 19-18 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Does Nueva Esperanza have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northeast turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
