Baseball Recap: Palisade Comes Up Short

Palisade fell victim to Pueblo County and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pueblo County Hornets. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Palisade saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Embrey, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Embrey is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Hunter Howard also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Palisade and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Pueblo County, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0.

Palisade didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-2 victory against Pueblo East on the 19th. As for Pueblo County, they will square off against Lewis-Palmer at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
