Softball Recap: Bonita Springs Comes Up Short

Bonita Springs lost against Gulf Coast back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bullsharks came up short against the Sharks, falling 17-11. The Bullsharks' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it 11 in a row.

Bonita Springs got a massive performance out of Angelina Magnuson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Kaylin Lyles also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Bonita Springs' loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Gulf Coast, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Bonita Springs will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on DeSoto County at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Gulf Coast, they will face off against Schoolhouse Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Sharks are facing the Wolfpack at the right time seeing as the Wolfpack are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
