Baseball Recap: Dixie County Comes Up Short

Dixie County suffered their biggest defeat since March 12, 2024 on Friday. They lost 7-1 to the Saint Francis Catholic Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 back in March.

This is the second loss in a row for Dixie County and nudges their season record down to 7-14. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Dixie County and Saint Francis Catholic are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bears will face off against Bell at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they will be playing at home against Peniel Baptist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
