Basketball Recap: Jones Wins Going Away Against Holdenville

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Jones had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They strolled past the Holdenville Wolverines with points to spare, taking the game 64-49. That's more bragging rights for the Longhorns, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Holdenville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Mike Piza, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 14 points. Kase Sipes was another key player, putting up nine points along with five assists and four steals.

Jones' win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Holdenville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 20-5 record.

Jones wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-60 loss against Crooked Oak on the 1st. As for Holdenville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-56 victory against Okmulgee on the 28th.
