Basketball Recap: Shaw Comes Up Short

Shaw and Streetsboro squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Shaw had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Streetsboro Rockets and fell 68-11. The Cardinals' loss continues a trend for the team, making it 11 in a row.

Naomi Benson was her usual excellent self, going 7-for-10 on her way to 14 points and four steals for Streetsboro. Benson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Raegan Hendon was another key player, putting up ten points and five assists.

Shaw's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Streetsboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

Shaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Streetsboro, they will square off against Field at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Field comes in on four and Streetsboro on eight.
