Softball Recap: Wayne City Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Wayne City's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Waltonville Spartans on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Indians' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Wayne City's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Waltonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Waltonville will be taking part in a tournament against Edwards County at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wayne City will be paying especially close attention to the Spartans' game: after the Spartans face off against the Lions, they'll take on Wayne City again at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
