Baseball Recap: Bishop McDevitt Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Bishop McDevitt was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They fell 5-0 to the Hershey Trojans. The game marked the first time this season in which the Crusaders were not able to get on the board.

Joel McNaughton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Bishop McDevitt's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hershey, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Coincidentally, Bishop McDevitt and Hershey will both be playing Carlisle the next time they take the field. The Trojans will host the Thundering Herd at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Crusaders will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
