Volleyball Recap: Spring Valley Vikings vs. Blythewood Bengals
Spring Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blythewood Bengals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Spring Valley was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Blythewood work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-22, 23-25, 25-20.
Despite the loss, Spring Valley had strong showings from Isabella Talde, who had eight digs and three aces, and Kennedy Newton, who had eight digs and four aces. Newton is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in the last four games she's played. Tamia Wilson was another key player, getting 20 digs.
