Basketball Recap: Adrian Moreno-Gonzales' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Liberal over Garden City

Liberal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 75-59 bruising from the Garden City Buffaloes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buffaloes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-61 back in January.

Liberal lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Adrian Moreno-Gonzales, who en route to 15 points and five rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eathan Hernandez, who posted 11 points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Liberal was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Liberal's record is now 3-16. As for Garden City, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.

Coming up, Liberal will take on Dodge City at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Liberal is facing Dodge City at the right time seeing as Dodge City is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Garden City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
