Soccer Recap: Hoover Falls Short Against Ranked Vestavia Hills

Hoover faced Vestavia Hills in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Buccaneers fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Vestavia Hills this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

Julie Cooke and Bailee Dowdey scored both of Hoover's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

With the loss, Hoover broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-7. As for Vestavia Hills, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-1-2 record this season.

Hoover will head out on the road to challenge Hewitt-Trussville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vestavia Hills, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Montgomery Academy at 5:30 p.m. Montgomery Academy's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
