Recap: Young Americans Christian Eagles vs. Fideles Christian Rangers
Even though the Young Americans Christian Eagles have not done well against the Fideles Christian Rangers recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Young Americans Christian took down Fideles Christian 57-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Young Americans Christian.
Shelby Housworth continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Kassidy Scott was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Several Rangers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jael Flinn, who scored 21 points. That was a full 55.3% of Fideles Christian's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laci Harkins, who scored 13 points.
Young Americans Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Fideles Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
Young Americans Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Lanier Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lanier Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. As for Fideles Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Dominion Christian at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th.
