With a playoff win on the line, St. Croix Falls rose to the challenge on Thursday. They blew past the Ellsworth Panthers 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Saints sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-10, 25-17.
Britta Olson paced St. Croix Falls' offense, picking up 14 kills. Olson got some help from Catherine Williams and her 29 assists. Williams also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Lucy Braund, each putting up five.
St. Croix Falls' victory bumped their record up to 23-11. As for Ellsworth, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-23 record this season.
St. Croix Falls will challenge Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ellsworth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
