Eagle Valley had won seven straight at home, but on Wednesday they bumped up to 14-3 to make it eight. They skirted past the Battle Mountain Husky 8-7. This was payback for the Devils, who suffered an 8-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

James Bivins looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Colter Blakey, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Ricardo Gutierrez was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

As for Battle Mountain, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

On Battle Mountain's side, Jack Reed was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Damici, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Eagle Valley beat Battle Mountain by a score of 14-4 later that day.
