Volleyball Recap: D.C. Everest Falls Despite Big Games from Lilly Peterson and Hailey Vang

D.C. Everest was the 2-0 winner over Medford when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Evergreens fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Evergreens' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

D.C. Everest actually scored more points across those five sets (113-94), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-22, 30-28, 12-25, 12-25, 15-13.

Despite the loss, D.C. Everest had strong showings from Hailey Vang, who had 11 digs and three aces, and Lilly Peterson, who had 19 digs and two assists. Ella Wiesman also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

D.C. Everest now has a losing record of 15-16. As for Medford, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-16 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. D.C. Everest will welcome Wausau East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Medford, they will be playing at home against Antigo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
