Baseball Recap: Green Mountain Takes a Loss

Green Mountain suffered their closest loss since April 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Lutheran Lions by a score of 3-1.

Simon Lunsford was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

Green Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Green Mountain will square off against Dakota Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lutheran, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Lutheran Lions take on Resurrection Christian Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Their pitchers better be ready for this one: Resurrection Christian has averaged an impressive 8.3 runs per game this season.
