Soccer Game Preview: Hobbs vs. Rio Rancho

The Hobbs Eagles will challenge the Rio Rancho Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hobbs will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Hobbs is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Mayfield. That's two games straight that Hobbs have won by exactly two goals.

They hit Mayfield with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kareli Rivera, Kamila Beltran, and Addisyn Richards.

Meanwhile, Rio Rancho faced Cleveland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Neither the Rams nor the Storm could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

With that draw, Rio Rancho's record moves to 14-4-2. As for Hobbs, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.

Hobbs beat Rio Rancho by a goal when the teams last played back in September of 2021, winning 2-1. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
