Baseball Recap: Seventy-First Comes Up Short

Seventy-First lost against Cape Fear back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Falcons came up short against the Colts, falling 11-0. The Falcons' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Seventy-First saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stephen Mikkelsen, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Mikkelsen's first of the season.

Seventy-First's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Cape Fear, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Seventy-First is set to square off against their familiar foe Jack Britt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cape Fear will take on rival Douglas Byrd at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
