Lone Peak falls despite strong effort from Ike Staley

Recap: Lone Peak Knights vs. American Fork Cavemen

On Friday, the Lone Peak Knights faced the American Fork Cavemen in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lone Peak's rough 71-45 loss to American Fork might stick with them for a while. Lone Peak's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Lone Peak still got an impressive performance from Ike Staley, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Thomsen Kramer, who scored eight points.

Lone Peak's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for American Fork, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

Lone Peak will head out on the road to face off against Lehi at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lehi is on a five-game streak of home wins, Lone Peak a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. American Fork will take on Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westlake is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
