Basketball Recap: Liberty Common Skates Past Frontier Academy with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty Common). They breezed by the Frontier Academy Wolverines to the tune of 81-51 on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Liberty Common was led to victory by Caiden Castillo and Grayson Clay. Castillo posted 22 points in addition to six assists and six steals, while Clay went 8 of 11 en route to 20 points and eight steals. Clay is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Pierce Richardson was another key player, going 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Liberty Common smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Liberty Common's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-4. As for Frontier Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.

Liberty Common will host Wray at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Common is facing Wray at the right time seeing as Wray is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Frontier Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Platte Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
