Basketball Recap: Cross Creek Takes a Loss

Cross Creek fought the good fight in their overtime game against Baldwin on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 71-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Braves. The Razorbacks were not able to make up for their loss to the Braves from their previous meeting back in February.

Karez Demory produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 31 points and 16 boards for Baldwin. With that strong performance, Demory is now averaging an impressive 8.3 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen King, who posted seven points and five boards.

Cross Creek's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-4. As for Baldwin, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Coming up, Cross Creek won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against C.A. Johnson at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Razorbacks will need to watch out since the Hornets have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Baldwin, they are taking a road trip to square off against Richmond Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves will be up against the Musketeers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.38 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
