Game recap: Chambersburg lets lead slip away late against Cumberland Valley

Cumberland Valley (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) grabbed the lead when Jeremy Salmon ran for a touchdown with 11:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to beat Chambersburg (Pa.) 41-27 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured four lead swaps.

The score was knotted at 20 heading into the half. The Eagles took the lead for good on a Salmon touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Ben Fernback stood out for Cumberland Valley in the win. The senior quarterback ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.

Ryan Martin played well for the Trojans. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns.



A 45-20 Cumberland Valley victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

Cumberland Valley (4-1) will play a Mid-Penn - Commonwealth game against Carlisle next week, while Chambersburg (3-2) will take on State College also in a Mid-Penn - Commonwealth game.
