Basketball Recap: Whitewright Takes a Loss

Whitewright lost against Sam Rayburn back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Whitewright Tigers fell 60-47 to the Sam Rayburn Rebels.

Whitewright's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 16-3. As for Sam Rayburn, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Whitewright and Sam Rayburn should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Whitewright (ranked 670th) will meet Wolfe City (ranked 1505th) at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Sam Rayburn will face off against Tom Bean at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 556 places (371 vs. 927).
