Unionville had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let the Chichester Eagles get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Longhorns sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row dating back to last season.
Nick Rassias looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Unionville let Jake Daly and Chase Parise run wild. Daly scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4, while Parise scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Those three hits gave Daly a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Wilson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Unionville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chichester only posted a batting average of .259.
Coincidentally, Unionville and Chichester will both be playing Great Valley the next time they take the field. Chichester will host Great Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Unionville will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
