Football Recap: Braddock Comes Up Short Despite Sophia Perez's Big Defensive Game

Braddock and Southridge squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Braddock had to settle for second. They fell 13-7 to the Spartans. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Braddock didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Sophia Perez, Isabella Corrons-Tapia, and Sabrina Schlegelmilch picked up one apiece. Perez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Braddock's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Southridge, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Coming up, Braddock will head out on the road to take on Boyd Anderson at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd. The Cobras will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Southridge, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-0 defeat against Homestead on the 17th.
