Baseball Game Preview: Chino Hills Huskies vs. Upland Highlanders/Scots

For the second straight game, Chino Hills will face off against Upland. The Huskies will head out on the road to challenge the Highlanders/Scots at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Chino Hills' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Upland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Chino Hills had just enough and edged out Upland 2-1. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Highlanders/Scots recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Brody Buoncristiani made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Buoncristiani wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Hernandez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Those two hits gave Hernandez a new career-high.

Chino Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upland struck out nine times.

Upland dropped their record down to 4-22 with the defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Chino Hills, their record is now 18-9.
