Softball Recap: Absegami Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Joseph, Absegami was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Our Lady of Mercy Academy Villagers a 16-0 shutout. Considering the Braves have won three matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Yaceana Scriven was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Emma Grimley also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Absegami always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Our Lady of Mercy Academy only posted an OBP of .200.

Absegami's record now sits at 5-1. As for Our Lady of Mercy Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Absegami is set to square off against their familiar foe Holy Spirit at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Our Lady of Mercy Academy will take on rival Atlantic County Institute of Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
