Baseball Game Preview: Mater Bay Academy Rays vs. Westminster Academy Lions

The Mater Bay Academy Rays are taking a road trip to challenge the Westminster Academy Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Mater Bay Academy's hittershaven't had much luck over their past four contests, but Friday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Mater Bay Academy came up short against Sports Leadership & Management and fell 4-1.

Alexis Mesa was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Westminster Academy gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past Coral Reef 2-1.

The team relied heavily on Calvin Martin, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three).

Mater Bay Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Westminster Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
