Volleyball Recap: Smoky Valley Takes a Loss

Smoky Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Chapman Irish. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Smoky Valley ultimately came up short, they really made Chapman work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-21.

Smoky Valley's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Chapman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-15.

Smoky Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Moundridge on the 4th. As for Chapman, they will host Clay Center at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
