Basketball Recap: Pine Eagle Comes Up Short

Pine Eagle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by the Union Bobcats 79-33. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Bobcats are ranked 97th).

Pine Eagle's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Union, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pine Eagle will venture away from home to square off against Wallowa at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Union, they will challenge Powder Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
