Basketball Game Preview: Man Hillbillies vs. Richwood Lumberjacks

The Man Hillbillies will head out to face off against the Richwood Lumberjacks at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Man has seven straight wins, Richwood has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Man was able to grind out a solid victory over Clay County, taking the game 65-52.

Man found their leader in sophomore Moses Hicks, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 18 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hicks has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trey Ward, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Man smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-44, which was the final score in Richwood's tilt against Greenbrier West on Tuesday.

Man pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Richwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Everything came up roses for Man against Richwood in their previous matchup last Friday, as the squad secured a 74-20 victory. In that contest, Man amassed a halftime lead of 32-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
