Basketball Game Preview: Harper Longhorns vs. San Saba Armadillos

Harper is 1-9 against San Saba since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Harper Longhorns will take on the San Saba Armadillos at 6:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Harper turned things around against Center Point on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 70-14 victory over the Pirates. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 558th, while the Pirates are ranked 1314th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, San Saba entered their tilt with Junction on Friday with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. They took their contest with ease, bagging an 82-29 win over the Eagles.

San Saba pushed their record up to 26-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Harper, their win bumped their record up to 18-10.

Harper was dealt a bruising 77-36 defeat at the hands of San Saba when the teams last played back in January. Can Harper avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
